In this role, you will support the physician in the delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and preparing pediatric patients for examination. Greets patients and manages patient care flow. Prepares patients for provider by reviewing current medications and record in medical record. Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs. Assists provider in examination/procedure rooms as needed. Assists in follow-up scheduling needs. Answers patient calls in timely fashion. Prepares charts as needed. Ability to understand and assist two or more providers with clinical care. Handles all designated clinical care telephone interactions with provider input. Communicates all significant clinical findings to MD. Serves as an advocate for patient and utilizes appropriate resources. Acts as a resource for patients, families and medical assistants.


Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures. Ability to take vitals signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
Possession of active Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR certification/BCLS
Possession of active EKG and Phlebotomy Certification
Minimum of two years experience as an LVN in a pediatric setting
