Critical care nursing takes strength, compassion, and a desire to learn. Not just about the field, but also about one’s self. As the Director of Critical Care Nursing, you will be a strong mentor and leader, developing best practices in critical care.
UCLA Health offers several state-of-the-art ICU settings for nursing and a supportive community. In this role, you will be responsible for the fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations of Coronary Care Unit, Cardiothoracic ICU, Neuroscience/Trauma ICU, Medical ICUs, Liver ICU, Critical Care Transport/Code Blue team, and other administrative and clinical areas.

California RN license; Master’s degree in Nursing or a BSN with a Master’s Degree in a related health care field; 5 years progressive line Management; BLS certification; Nurse Executive Board Certified or equivalent. Strong clinical background in Critical Care; Strong evidence of proven track record to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes.

The ability to develop, maintain and evaluates patient and staff data collection systems and process to support the practice of Critical Care Nursing and the delivery of patient care.

The ability to oversees sustainment of the UCLA Health environment that empowers and supports the professional role based nurse in evidenced based critical care nursing care practiced.
The ability to develop, maintain and evaluate information systems and processes that promote desired, patient centered, professional and organizational outcomes across UCLA Health.

The ability to develop, maintain and evaluate organizational systems that support implementation of best practices of care. 
The ability to actively evaluate process improvement for all quality measures. 
The ability to maintain current knowledge of management practices, institutional policies, change within the health care environment, updates within the Critical Care areas supervised and information related to strategic planning within the organization and critical care service line.  Analysis of benchmarks and performance at comparable organizations is also required.

The ability to interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
Prior experience with Joint; Commission and CMS and Magnet surveys preferred.
