Responsibilities

This position will be mainly based at the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and at the UCLA Santa Monica Cardiology Practice Group Office but may require some time at the UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center office and Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital in Westwood as needed. Specific duties will include:
1. All aspects of follow-care inpatients with pacemakers, ICDs, CRT and ILR devices, specifically interrogation of devices, measurement of all parameters, and generation of reports for physician to review and sign
2. Coordination of Holter, Event monitor and all other rhythm monitoring device hook-up and follow-up care
3. Seeing inpatients and outpatients in the Arrhythmia Clinic in coordination with the attending physician
4. Providing programming and follow-up care for patients with cardiac devices undergoing procedures in OR
5. Acting as a resource for CCU and unit nurses, medical and surgical teams on all aspects of the management of patients with cardiac devices.


The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate "standardized procedures" (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). 

Qualifications

JD Qualifications
CPR: BLS, ACLS
License: RN, State of California NP, National Certification
Master’s Degree in Nursing with an Acute Care Speciality
Ability to utilize Excel, Word, Epic CareConnect, and other software programs
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel
Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions
Ability to set priorities
Demonstrate proficiency of the English language
Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
Knowledge of Cardiology, pacemakers, ICDs, CRT and ILR devices preferred.
NP II - experienced NP
NP III- internal NPIII or External NP with EP NP experience greater than 5 year
